Cards are required to be in FAT-16 format for use in this radio. Modern SD cards are formatted in FAT-32, which won't work.
Use the following command (as root) to re-format the disk:
mkdosfs -F 16 /dev/sdX
where "/dev/sdX" is the device of the SD card. Formatting fails if the device is mounted. Take care to pick the correct device too!
There is a Windows™ equivalent, which might be:
format X: /fs:FAT
where "X:" is the drive of the SD card. This is UNTESTED!
